Cytoplasm - The Glue of the Cell
Many consider the nucleus to be the "most important organelle in the cell", as it stores the genetic information of the cell, or the mitochondria, which produces the energy for the cell. But where do these organelles reside? In the cytoplasm!
Cell WITHOUT cytoplasm |
The cytoplasm allows the cell to keep its structure, while still allowing the other organelles to move around when needed!
The cytoplasm houses all the cell's parts, and provides storage for different substances the cell might need, such as fuel for the mitochondria. It also allows the organelles to move throughout the cell, making the cytoplasm crucial to mitosis. because of the cytoplasm's sol-gel nature, it also protects the other organelles, just as an airbag would!
Just remember to keep your cell-f together when you vote, because I keep your cell together!
